Activate Office 2019 for macOS VoL.md

Activate MS Office 2019/2016 for macOS - Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer

Note that Office2019 DO NOT support activate via simple copy/paste plist license file which is the simplest way to activate Office 2016. Fortunately, you can also use the VL Serializer tool, just install Office 2019 and Serializer, then run Serializer to activate.

Activation Step

  1. DO NOT RUN OFFICE APP AFTER INSTALLED, but just install Office 2019 for macOS

    or install via brew:

    brew cask install microsoft-office

  2. manual download and install Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer.pkg

  3. run Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer and it will automatic activate Office 2019

  4. open the office app, completed.

Note

If you alaways been asked for 'Sign in' and still requires activation, please try to remove Office license files on a Mac. Here is the official download link for Microsoft_Office_License_Removal tool. (thanks for @lidroider's comment)

Activation Step

  1. install Office2016 for mac with Office Suite Install, but DO NOT RUN OFFICE AFTER INSTALLED

    or install via brew:

    # brew cask install microsoft-office  # this point to Office 2019 now
# install last office 2016 version below
brew cask install https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/raw/538c7cf34c085e3bb4fdac36f6370ded87930036/Casks/microsoft-office.rb

  2. copy license file com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist to Preferences

    # md5(com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist) = a8f1283303838b4d3bd943775e463239
cp com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist /Library/Preferences/

# or download it in library by command line
curl -sSL git.io/office16-plist -o /Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist

  3. run the office app, completed.

Will this code install Office 2019 still instead of the current 2021?
brew install --cask microsoft-office
In that case will this trick activate the 2021 version also? Or should I use the pkg file to install the 2019 version?

For MacOS 12+ (Monterey) need to use instead brew cask, brew install --cask

It is now asking for an update. Should I update it or not? the auto-update is showing small packages of updates in MB sizes

I have this in a MB 12 since 2020, everything works ok and you can update without problems.
I am changing to a M1 MB, does anybody knows if this will work?

i downloaded official link and it is in document type when i open it just a black page with codes appear and i dont know how to install it then go for second part.

Can some one help me. I had installed only word from the appstore and removed it to then install from this package. All the other apps except word appear in my applications folder. I tried reinstalling word multiple times, but no luck. I logged out from applestore and tried...still noting. Whatever I do, word is not installing or appearing in the applications folder, but all others appear. what can i do Screen Shot 2022-07-23 at 12 20 18 PM ?

Did you tried some app uninstall tool like "appcleaner" or "clean my mac X"?

Tried several times on Mac OS X High Sierra 10.13.6 but still get the sign in window, using the 16.43 Office suite installer, which is the last version compatible with HS. Oddly it did work and I had Word and Excel installed but I installed Powerpoint and it all went t*ts up. After removing all and the licence it will not activate. I think this is a dead duck for HS thank god it still works on Catalina 10.15.7

Anyone fail to activate office using this method? M1 Monterey 12.6, I was able to activate office 4 months ago but now even after reinstalling office the method fails, deleted every app, folder, file in key chain access

I cannot for the life of me get this activated. I have removed every single file associated with MS using several tools. Removed all support files etc etc. Tried the installer and Serializer with reboots almost 6 times now. All outgoing connections blocked. No go. Keeps asking for activation. Big Sur Mac Pro 5.1 12 core. Cannot understand this one at all. Works on my 2 MBP's but on this Mac its a no go. Some help would be greatly appreciated. I got 2016 to work but I need the 2019 version

Hmmmm saw something interesting on uninstall.. var-->db-->receipts.
Tons of licensing .plist files
Lets see what happens on removal of these

Gave up and installed Libre Office, not as flash but competent for what I need it for and getting used to the retro ui. I've cleared every bit of Microsoft from my system now and forgetting all about ever using Office as it's a dead duck for me, I also removed Microsoft Office from my Catalina system and installed Libre Office. https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/

I also have just given up. I installed SOFTMAKER OFFICE. Compatible with all MS format types.
